Gemino AI is an applied research and development company based in Germany. We build the intelligence layer between biological and industrial processes and the mathematically safe control that runs them.

[01] The company

Research,
deployed.

Gemino AI was founded to close a gap that shows up in almost every industrial process: the people running a plant can measure it, and they can model it, but they cannot reliably connect the two. Our work sits exactly in that gap. We take an applied research question — how a biofilm behaves, how a sensor degrades, how a yield curve moves when feed changes — and we carry it through to hardware that a customer can install and defend in an audit.

The company operates in four domains that reinforce each other rather than standing alone: optical recognition, industrial automation, remote sensor management, and energy systems. Each project we take on is expected to be independently verifiable, which is why our engineering method is built around measurement first and narrative second.

[02] Research network

University
to factory floor.

Gemino AI works from a university research network rather than an isolated laboratory. From the University of Potsdam, the company connects doctoral and applied research into deployable industrial systems — the academic question and the commissioning problem are handled by the same team, in the same project, on the same timeline.

That arrangement is deliberate. Research that never leaves a paper cannot be validated, and systems built without a research question cannot be improved. Our project hubs, including HY2Con for bio-hydrogen production under constrained reinforcement learning, exist so that both halves stay visible at once.

[03] Funding and verification

Independently
verified.

Gemino AI research is supported through SAB, go-Inno, BAFA Africa and the German Research Allowance programme. The Research Allowance certification is renewed by DLR Projektträger BSFZ, which independently re-confirms the novelty, technical risk and systematic planning of our research projects under §6 FZulG — an assessment carried out by a body with no stake in our results.

We hold the same standard for hardware. Optical and edge platforms are only described as qualified once they have completed testing in the environments they are sold for, including aquatic biomass and high-temperature waste-gasification testbeds.
